Hernando pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Florida, where he majored in history with a concentration in Latin studies. This academic background gave him a strong understanding of the historical, political, and cultural influences that shape the immigrant experience. Determined to use his knowledge to make a difference, he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he honed his legal skills and prepared for a career dedicated to justice and equality.
